Montegufoni · Tuscany
An exclusive estate where timeless heritage meets refined luxury.

The Estate
Villa delle Ortensie sits in the hills of Montegufoni, half an hour from Florence. Owned by the photographer Andrea Varani, the house is a study in restraint: lime-washed walls, arched glass galleries, and three bedrooms that open to the valley’s morning haze.
Days are shaped by light. Espresso on the veranda as the mist lifts from the olive groves; long lunches beneath the parasol; evenings at the pool with the cypresses turning to ink against the sky.
It is a private house rather than a hotel — welcomed personally by Andrea and Leo, who arrange everything from the private chef to the cellar doors that stay closed to everyone else.
Suites & Spaces
Arched glass galleries, whitewashed beams and deep linen seating — rooms curated by photographer Andrea Varani, where light is the principal material.

“Beautiful and meticulously maintained. Every corner of this property, both inside and out, is so well organised and cared for. The place was exceptional. Quiet and secluded, yet close enough to all amenities (a 7-minute drive). The garden and swimming pool are the main attractions. The landscaping was so meticulously cared for. We would definitely love to return to this wonderful corner of paradise in Tuscany.”
Paul6 days ago“As with other reviews, this Airbnb was potentially one of the best I will ever have stayed in. Excellent and absolutely worth the money. We were blown away from the moment we drove through the gate. The landscaping is fantastic and has inspired us to cultivate our own gardens and yards. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time by the pool after some busy days in Rome. Leo was very helpful and cheerful. The house features excellent interior design.”

Andrei4 days ago“I'm speechless! This was the most beautiful villa! The attention to detail was exceptional. Andrea and Leo were fantastic, communication was excellent, their suggestions for a private chef were perfect, as were their restaurant recommendations. I wish I could have stayed longer. You must book it if you can. We hope to return one day. They certainly treated us like family members.”
Lisa · Agoura Hills, California3 weeks ago“Andrea was a fantastic host! Check-in and check-out were seamless, we were offered a complimentary bottle of wine, some sparkling wine for one of our dinners, and breakfast on the day of check-out. The house was beautiful, the pool was fantastic with breathtaking views. We also received several excellent recommendations from the host, including a private cooking class at home, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy. We highly recommend it and hope to return one day.”
Amy · Kenmore, WashingtonJuly 2026“We had an incredible stay at this stunning house! The property is absolutely gorgeous, with a completely private courtyard and pool area that felt like our own hidden oasis. The manicured landscaping opens to a beautiful view of the countryside, with olive trees and vineyards. Our host's hospitality and communication were excellent from start to finish. Inside, the house was immaculate and featured incredibly comfortable beds that ensured a perfect night's sleep. It was the ultimate relaxing getaway. We highly recommend this accommodation and would love to return!”

Montegufoni, in the Val di Pesa hills — close enough for a morning in the Uffizi, remote enough that the only sound at night is the cicadas.
